PCF was very lucky to have been awarded a $10,000 donation by Carpenter Technologies. They donate every year as part of their annual Impact Awards and PCF was lucky to be recognized and win this year’s award. Furthermore, the award is normally $5,000 but when Carpenter Technologies learned more about what PCF does, they doubled it!!!
One of the schools that benefited was Logan Elementary, a school PCF has worked with for years. PCF donated a 3D Printer Lab (including a lifetime supply of filament 🙂 ) which has been used seemingly non-stop ever since. A new computer teacher there, Ms. Rena Fine, has really taken to the technology. Almost every day, she either makes up or downloads 3D designs that she prints for students or her fellow staff. Literally every time we visit the school, she has a table full of newly printed things that she hands out to students for good behavior.
The rest of the Carpenter Technologies donation was used to purchase printers for other schools including Universal Charter and Houston.
