Thanks to our donors and volunteers, PCF was able to install 30 computers into various classrooms and the Family Resource Room at William Cramp Elementary. Prior to installing the computers, PCF provided Cramp with 8 donated iPads.
In addition to setting up mini labs in various classrooms, we also outfitted a room that is used by parents to access the internet, fill out applications, write resumes, and take GED classes. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to set up such a publicly accessible mini lab. The logistics of finding partners in the community are hard and schools and libraries are the natural environment to do so.
Below is a thank you letter we received after we finished up our installation.
Dear Philadelphia Children’s Foundation,
I just wanted to say thank you for your donation of 30 computers and 8 Ipads to Cramp School. We are in the statistically lowest income neighborhood in the city, and many of our students lack access to the technology that is vital in today’s world.
Your donation and installation of these computers has allowed us to increase programming for special education students, to create a research center in our library and to even add three computers to our parent resource room so that parents can work on their resume or take GED classes. It is a transformational donation and will go a long way towards making a change in our community.
We cannot thank you enough for your generosity, and hope that other Philadelphia schools will be so lucky as to be a partner with Philadelphia Children’s Foundation.
Thank you,
Cramp Elementary School
PCF looks forward to working with Cramp into the future!
We need your help to continue offering these important programs. Please consider making a donation to support our work. Or contact us if you would like to support a specific school.
